My husband planning a trip which included a visit to Beatrix Potter's cottage Hill Top in the Lake District while staying at a 16th century cottage she had once owned.

It's so hard to choose just one! I would pick Beatrix Potter, but Richard Scarry, Jean de Brunhoff, Pauline Baynes (Narnia books) and Mary Shepard (Mary Poppins) are on my wish list too.

Lots of reading, sewing and other crafts

Another hard one to narrow down. I would pick Phewtus the Squirrel by V.H. Drummond, a story of a very lovable knitted squirrel and his adventure in the park. For my favourite chapter book, I would pick Ballet Shoes by Noel Streatfeild.
