Susan Mitchell
Susan Mitchell studied Drawing and Painting at the Edinburgh College of Art before working as a chalkboard artist for a brewery, a scene painter at an old Victorian theatre, and an art teacher.
Susan moved overseas to Montreal, Quebec in 1993 where she first embarked on a career as a greeting card artist before finally fulfilling her dream of illustrating children's books. Her debut children's title, THE CHRISTMAS POP-UP PRESENT, was published in Fall 2005 followed by CLAIRE AND THE UNICORN HAPPY EVER AFTER in January 2006. Several other of her children's titles are to be released in 2006 and she is currently working on a number of upcoming projects.
Susan continues to live in Montreal with husband PJ Bracegirdle, a children's author, and their artist son (who often puts them both to shame).
Her clients have included: Culver Advertising, Integrity Publishers, Kernels Popcorn, Paper Products Design, Peaceable Kingdom Press, Pierre Belvedere Inc., Readers Digest, Ronnie Sellers Productions, Schurman Fine Papers, Scott Foresman, Simon & Schuster, Usborne Publishing, and the World Wildlife Fund.
